The The Complete Actors – Kakuma Refugee Camp
In the heart of Kakuma Refugee Camp, a powerful creative movement is growing—The Complete Actors Founded and led by refugee artists Ngoy Stany & Joel Dacosta, this youth-driven collective is made up of 45 actors, musicians, dancers, and filmmakers who are using their talents to inspire hope, challenge stigma, and create change.
Despite the incredible creativity and passion within the camp, most young people lack the support, resources, and platforms needed to grow their artistic skills. This lack of opportunity has led many to fall into early marriage, substance abuse, and a loss of direction. The Complete Actors exists to change that narrative – through art, performance, and powerful storytelling.
Their original song Labor composed and performed by the group, sends a message to the community:
“Talent is a treasure.”
They call on parents to recognise the value of creativity, and they appeal to supporters around the world to invest in the next generation of refugee talent.
With the right support, these young artists could go far – not just in their personal growth, but in uplifting their entire community.
