RESPECT ALL LIFE USHINDI SETH

RESPECT ALL LIFE

USHINDI SETH

This painting was inspired by a story the artist remembers being told

as a child. In the 1960’s a priest came to his village, a kind man

who, like others there, would have need to hunt for food. Just before

taking a shot, he would always pause to kneel down and pray. It was

both an offering of gratitude and also a chance for the deer to escape.

The story told to Ushindi as a young child resonated deeply. The

small act of respect stayed in his heart, shaping his values and

approach to life.
