FOOD RATIONS DAU CHOL

FOOD RATIONS

DAU CHOL

Brought to the camp as an orphaned baby after losing his leg in his

war-torn country, our disabled artist chose to capture the endless,

wearying process of collecting food rations from the World Food

Programme. Painted before USAID withdrew its support and before

refugees were placed into strict categories of need, it speaks to the

patience, endurance, and quiet dignity of those who wait in line, day

after day. Today, many live without work and without food, their

aid withdrawn.
