About the Artwork:
This piece began during the 10-hour Artathon event for the Kakuma Art Project. It features ‘Boat’ in the top left corner, the original fundraising painting and weaves together my personal journey launching the Kakuma Art Project and the deep connections I’ve formed with refugee artists in Kakuma Camp, Kenya. Created through layers of change and emotion, this painting evolved alongside our shared experiences. It will be exhibited as part of The Kakuma Art Project at The Vanner Gallery, alongside powerful works from our workshops in the camp.
