THE LIGHT OF RESILIENCE KUACHI GAI
THE LIGHT OF RESILIENCE
KUACHI GAI
In this powerful painting, Kuachi illustrates two hands struggling
within a tangled net, symbolising the despair and restriction felt by
many refugees in Kakuma after the withdrawal of international aid.
One hand, however, breaks free, holding a torch that radiates vibrant
beams of hope.
The torch represents resilience, self-reliance, and the power of inner
light in dark times. Through this work, Gai reminds us that while
external support has faded, the strength to rise must now come from
within.
