Love from Ireland!

Dear friend,

My name is Louise and I live in Ireland with my husband Ed. Tara has shared many photos and videos of your community in Kakuma and it has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces! It brightened our days to see all of the projects you have worked on! It wasn’t easy but you did it!! We saw you build an art gallery and fill it with beautiful paintings. We saw your classrooms and we saw you build a water system. We saw you create a playground for your children. Now, you will plant trees! We see a community that makes great things happen and is a source of inspiration for us. We admire your courage, talent, community spirit and undying hope. These are qualities that build good lives, regardless of what happened in the past.

In Ireland, we have a saying:

‘May the Road Rise Up to Meet You’.

This saying is an Irish blessing and it comes to mind when we think of you in Kakuma. We wish you all continued strength. Keep up the wonderful community spirit you have created! My husband and I are looking forward to hearing about your trees as they grow in the months and years ahead!

Love from Ireland!

Louise & Ed xx
